This single mother sells nasi lemak to support her son after her husband passed away.
Facebook user, Poonam Pillay, shared that her friend, Glory Selvadurai, lost her husband in a traffic accident last August. Since then, Glory had set up a nasi lemak stall at Johor Bahru to support her son.
Ms Pillay also revealed that Glory had recently injured her leg and had to undergo an operation for it. She further added that it would take Glory at least 6 months to fully recover.
When Ms Pillay went to visit Glory at her stall, she can tell that Glory is still in pain, but the latter pressed on for the sake of her child. She even told Ms Pillay, “I’m ok akka (sister), life has to go on & I need to focus on my son now.”
The post by Ms Pillay had since gone viral and many shared it to show their support for Glory. In return, Glory wrote on Facebook, “I am not going to go through life feeling unworthy. I’m not going to let what’s happened to me, what didn’t work out, who did me wrong, keep me from becoming who I was created to be.”
Despite going through such unfortunate events in her life, Glory remained strong for her son. There’s really no other greater love than the love we receive from our parents. The love and sacrifice they make for us is unconditional.
Our hearts go out to Glory for her loss, and we hope that she’ll be able to move on from the grief of her husband’s death. We wish her all the best.
